She then turned towards Marcia and asked, "But before I do, tell me how are you dealing with what I have said so far? This next phase of explanation is pretty intense, intellectually wise, so it's important that there isn't any major issues causing road blocks."

Marcia thought for few moments and replied, "Mistress Jennifer, it's hard to say how this is affecting me. Nothing you're telling me is matching up with how I was raised. I just keep telling myself that I trust my mother, and since she trusts you, I am willing to trust you also."

"I'm glad to hear that. The ability to trust is very important for all of us. People who are incapable of trusting others are always miserable people. Trust is something that we in this kingdom rely on, and seek to develop."

After pausing for a few moments, Lady Jennifer continued, "When I told you that we are a kingdom of relationships, I was describing the 'how' of this kingdom. The 'why' of our kingdom is more like a guiding principle. Of course an important guiding principle is our Christian faith, but we'll get into that later. "You know, it's starting to get a bit chilly. How about we go back inside." Lady Jennifer led Marcia back inside, then over to the lounge were they were earlier. The sight of it made Marcia bring to the front of her mind the pain she still felt from what occurred on it.

Sitting in the same positions as earlier, Lady Jennifer continued, "What I have described so far applies to married women, except the part about what happens when you show your panties, that applies to both. So what will be required of you before then?" she asked rhetorically, "As far as men are concerned, you are off limits. No man can touch you until you say you are ready. Your status right now is as an initiate, and technically, you're still not a member of the kingdom. Your only participation of the kingdom will be through me.

"You will need to move to the next stage to be considered in the kingdom, at which time you will then be called a maiden. As a maiden you will only be permitted to perform the duties assigned to you, otherwise you must remain in your room. The only other reasons that you can be out of your room are to eat, and exercise. Marcia was now flabbergasted. "Mistress Jennifer. You're kidding me right? One of the games our parents have us kids play is 'telegraph.' A message is passed from kid to kid to see how garbled the end result can be, and you expect me to believe that this is a good way to transmit information?"

"You're right, we do have our children play that game, but not to teach them that verbal communication is bad. We do it to show them the pitfalls of it, so that they will learn to do it better."

Marcia was clearly not convinced. "I'm sorry Mistress Jennifer, but I just don't see the benefits of not writing down what you expect of people."

"Look, the laziest most ineffective thing I could do to get you to learn this kingdom is to throw a book at you and say, 'Here. Read this.' If I am really interested in making sure you understand this kingdom, I am going to sit down with you, and walk you through everything, making sure I get the feedback I need that tells me you're grasping this… Like right now, you clearly are not." Laura then arrived with an ornate tray and tea set. She placed them down between Marcia and Lady Jennifer and asked, "Will you be needing anything else Mistress Jennifer?"

"That will be all Laura. You may continue with your duties," replied Lady Jennifer. She then poured both of them some of the tea. "Sugar?"

"Two please, Mistress Jennifer," replied Marcia.

Lady Jennifer preferred hers without any, and took a sip as is. While Marcia started sipping hers, Lady Jennifer continued. "When it comes to sex in our kingdom, there are two hard rules. As you may have guessed already, women of this kingdom are required to engage in any sexual act commanded of them by any man of this kingdom. This is rule #1. Rule #2 tempers rule #1 by saying that no one is permitted to harm you. So if you believe that what a man tells you to do is going to harm you (or him, such as if you are having a herpes outbreak), you are entitled to say no without offering him any explanation. As they were stepping out of the tub, they grabbed some towels, and with Marcia following Lady Jennifer's lead, began drying each other off. Laura then entered the room with two identical dresses. They were white, but not like the long gown Lady Jennifer wore earlier. These were more like casual sun dresses with short skirts. Laura also came in with appropriate sized white underwear to go with the dresses.

Laura assisted both women with getting dressed, then Lady Jennifer told her, "We'll have tea on the terrace." As Lady Jennifer led Marcia out a set of French doors to the terrace outside, Laura went off to do as she was bidden.

It was a beautiful, warm, late-afternoon sun that greeted them as they walked outside. Marcia had always loved this view out the back of the manor. She could see the playground she grew up playing in, and the sports facilities that she and her friends competed at. Chapter 2: Marcia Learns Submission

As Lady Jennifer led Marcia to the Jacuzzi, she reached out and pressed the button on an intercom. "Laura? Please come in and lend a hand." She then carefully sat Marcia down on the edge of the tub.

Marcia's pain on her bottom and thighs was at once intense and numbing. As she watched Lady Jennifer turn on the jets in the tub, the idea of getting into it seemed both soothing and harrowing.

While Marcia was trying to decide whether to get into the tub, in walked a young woman with long, wavy, dirty-blonde hair. She was dressed in what could only be called a caricature of a French maid uniform. It was very skimpy; exposing her ample bosom from just above her nipples. The skirt was so short that all of her black, stocking-covered legs were in full view, including the garters holding them up. To finish off the look, she had on 3-inch stiletto heels. "And this brings us to the second point I want to make, and that is the dual concepts of domination and submission. In most of our relationships in life we want them to be the same — we want them to be 'fair' — but not with our sexual relationships. With them we seek someone who is our opposite so that we can combine with each other to make a whole. Even homosexuals usually break into masculine and feminine roles. Yet masculine and feminine are not adequate to describe what we want in sexual relationships.

"I don't expect you to fully understand what I am telling you right now. I am just telling you enough so that you will have a framework to build an understanding on. The most important thing of this framework to keep in mind is that neither domination nor submission can exist without the other. That means both must have equal power. If you are thinking that because the dominant person is making all of the decisions, so that means the dominant one is the one with all of the power, then you do not, and I repeat, DO NOT understand the duality of domination and submission. Lady Jennifer knew that the mothers of this kingdom did not raise their daughters to be pushovers. Marcia's reaction was even to be expected. But she also knew that this tack was the best course of action to get her across her lap.

"I am going to be devoting a great deal of time and effort in preparing you for entry into this kingdom, and I need to know whether you have the strength of character to be of any benefit to it. I don't want to waste my time on any woman whose self-confidence is so fragile that she can't endure the pain and humiliation of what I am about to subject you to.

"Entry into this kingdom comes with a commitment on our part to always be on your side, and to do what we consider is in your best interest. On your part, you need to demonstrate that you trust us… that you trust that no matter how painful or humiliating something we command of you is, you know you will never actually be harmed. Marcia went on, "This doesn't make sense. Our family is a good Christian family. We go to the same church you do. It is a sin to have sex outside of marriage. While my mother has always answered any questions I have had about sex, she nonetheless has always stressed that I must not have sex until I am married. So either what you are telling me are lies, or what my mother has been telling me are. Guess who I am more likely to believe?" Marcia finished off angrily.

From the look on Lady Jennifer's face it was clear she did not like the direction this conversation was going in. While she has had similar reactions from some of her initiates, none had taken it this badly. 'Being blunt may not have been the right course' she thought.

"Marcia, you need to calm down for a second. You are allowing your fears and prejudices to hold sway with you. I am not asking you to redefine who you believe your mother to be.
