Dan Hemmings was on his way home from the Country Club. He had been looking forward to a relaxing afternoon on the links, but had forgotten about the ladies golf tournament, rescheduled for today after being rained out the day before.
He was a little disappointed, but it really didn’t bother him all that much. Any day where he could get out of the office was a good day. Dan was a lawyer and ran his own highly successful practice, and he needed the break from his stressful job.
He parked his car in the driveway and entered the house, heading for the kitchen and a cold brew. He glanced out the kitchen window and saw that his family was out around the pool. He decided that a dip in the pool would be just the ticket for a balmy summer afternoon, and paused for a moment, looking at his family before going to change. “God, but they grow up fast!” he said to himself, looking at his kids.
Dan Junior, universally known as DJ, was a strapping twenty year old, and a starting fullback on his college football team. He was a younger mirror image of his father, six feet tall of solid muscle, dark haired and handsome.
