It was early June of senior year when all my friends decided to skipped school and have a day drink instead. We all migrated to our Friend Anthony’s house because his mom had been away a few days. It was a decent gathering of about 30-40 of the seniors there.
Anthony had a nice house with a large backyard for games and tables. With the party split up between people playing beer pong, smoking weed and a game called “dizzy bat.”
It’s a game where you down your drink as fast as you can. However many seconds long you took to down your drink, you then in that same about of time spin around a standing up wiffle ball bat with your head against the end of it. After that someone throws the empty can at you and you try to make contact before racing to the other side of the yard. Whoever reaches the finish line wins.
It seemed like a really dumb game, but after a few hits of a joint I was intrigued and walked over to watch. After watching from the sidelines for a round I asked if I could give the game a try. I walked to the start of the race when a cute voice yelled out “Wait I want to try too!”
