About a year after graduating from college I landed a supervisor position. We maintained historical sites and other outdoor reclamation sites. It was mainly physical labor, but involved a lot of homework and community outreach. The work was hard and kept me in pretty good shape.
I had made a few friends in the area and at work. Being in management allowed me to divvy up task. Since, I like to set the example I always choose to work on the weekend while others got the weekend off. I did have to have at least one other person with me and I usually took the newest people. The work was amazingly easy on the weekend, it was just more or less driving and checking that systems are working like they should, so you had a lot of time in the car then. Thankfully, the two newest people were temp girls that just finished college. I got the opportunity to know them both and the three of us clicked.
