1 – Capture
Bubbles billowed out of their breathing apparatuses as they swam to a window in the palace. Frank nodded to Axe, who peeked in. The redhead was laying… er floating above a carved bed. Frank shrugged at Axe’s look and swam through the window. They moved slowly through the water to where the mermaid slept. Frank motioned with his hand and Axe moved to the opposite side of Ariel. The plastic-like sheet billowed as he threw it out over her. Waiting for it to sink a bit, Frank’s hand darted out and slapped the strip of flex tape over the mermaid’s mouth. Her eyes sprung open as the men quickly grabbed the sheet and pulled it down around her. Frank laid his end over Axe’s, holding the sheet against the bed. Ariel struggled in the bubble, her arms doing nothing but her powerful thrashing tail making them strain. The sheet fused to itself, seeming to take forever. Finally, the mermaid was contained in a sphere. Frank gave Axe a thumbs up and he jabbed the valve and attached tank into the bubble, the sheet sealing around it. The valve whirred as it pushed air in from the tank and sucked water out. The sound made them nervous as they waited. Once a small pocket of air had formed in the sphere, Ariel floated up some in the water. They shut off the valve and pushed the bubble towards the window. The mermaid struck at them and the sheet, crying out against the tape. They got her through the window and Frank scouted the waters while Axe turned the valve back on. Ariel sank back against the bottom of the sphere as the water inside disappeared. The bubble began to float towards the surface rapidly, Frank and Axe swimming behind it.
