This is the first part in my sci-fi BE series the Oracle! Let me know what you think!
Part: 1

There you were. Floating in deep space, curled up all alone. We thought you were dead, for sure. But we thought we should check – it was the decent thing to do. The matrix has an extendable exterior claw for grabbing space debris, bounty from ships – sometimes deserters. We carefully pulled you into the airlock. I walked down to the airlock door and peered through the thick bubble window. You were breathing. I couldn’t believe in. You were still curled up, your arms grasped around your knees. You looked like no other galactic species I’d ever seen before. You were completely blue – a bright plasmatic blue in fact. You looked almost like human woman, except for the blue part and the two antenna that petruded from your long brown hair. I equalised the airlock and cracked open the door – ‘who are you!?’ You shouted at me, bolting upright and pressing your back towards the exit hatch. ‘I’m not going to hurt you,’ I said. ‘We found you floating out there and decided to see if you were still alive… we were right.’ You looked at me with pure suspicion. ‘I’m Jane – I’m the captain of this ship.’ I introduced myself to you, sticking my hand out towards you. Suddenly your appearance changed, your skin went to a light tan, your hair changed to a short dirty blonde… and your breasts grew to the size of mine, filling out the exact same white tank top I was wearing. You outstretched your hand. ‘I’m Jane – I’m the captain of this ship.’ You said with a big grin. You were a shapeshifter… one of the last of your kind, I would find out later. That’s when I knew our lives on the matrix we’re going to get a whole lot more interesting.
