It was 2011 and I was going to a lot of concerts at the time. Mostly indie bands “you’ve probably never heard of,” because I was that guy. But I did go to a Mumford and Sons concert that year with a group of friends. We pregamed in the parking lot and it was a pavilion event, then we got high af throughout the evening.
As happens when your group has the weed on the lawn, people wander over. This older hippie couple came over and we hooked them up for sure. The stories alone. They had brought their daughter, a 25 year old free spirit, for her birthday present. They had pit passes, but wanted to see what the weed situation was up on the lawn and there we were. Besides, the pit was getting loud for the wife/mom.
I don’t if they’re still doing it, but at that time this particular pavilion used wrist bands to get in, but they let you put them on. I love being in the pit, but for Mumford that year is was like $300 I think. I start in with, “hey if you’re not gonna use the pit, anyway I can get that wrist band?” She pretty much throws it at me, as she had it on pretty loose. It’s tight, but I squeeze it on. Sweet. Pit pass!
