Susana flipped the visor down. Two small lights glowed on either side of a mirror, illuminating her face in the darkened car. She gave her makeup one last check — it had been a long day but she still wanted to look put together — adjusted her wire-rimmed glasses, and pushed a wayward strand of blonde hair back behind her ear.
‘Neat and professional’ she decided. She smiled to herself as she climbed out of her car.
Normally, she would never visit a student’s house. But Trevor had practically begged her to come to the study group he and his classmates were having tonight. His friend Lucas was host, and as Susana walked up the path to the large house, instead of the quiet sounds of study, muffled sounds of loud music and flashing lights were what greeted her.
‘How nice of them to invite so many of their classmates to their study session,’ she thought cheerfully as she rang the doorbell.
“It’s open,” someone yelled through the door.
But again Susana rang the doorbell. It wouldn’t be right to just walk into a student’s house without being greeted.
