[Prologue]
Last year I thought I was kicking goals. I finished university and landed a graduate position at my dream law firm. I was losing weight, exercising regularly and I had a girlfriend that was fairly good to me. However, not all good things are built to last. Fast forward 12 months and well, not everything was coming up milhouse.
After 12 months in hell at my ‘dream firm’ I quit my job, with the promise of a new position to fall through at the last moment and I was unemployed for a good couple of months. It was during this time that I started getting bored with my life. I realised that I was one of ‘those people’ – the ones whose career was literally their identity. I was spiralling. My applications to new positions were falling flat and my network was failing me.
