Sam walked in uncomfortably. It wasn’t like what he had expected at all. It appeared just like any other sports bar. He reluctantly walked to a table in the middle of the hallway and seated himself. He subconsciously felt a stare but he couldn’t raise his head to scan the room all the while wondering within him “how did i get here?”
Few days earlier: Sam, a 40 year old single-by-choice dad-body’d closeted gay-curious sales rep, wondered what it would be like inside a gay bar. He couldn’t bring himself talk about it to anyone as he was afraid of “what others would think?”. He removed and tinder and added grindr. It thrilled him. He chose a shirt-less pic of his from 10 years ago for his profile cover. “Ding” – the phone notified. someone liked his pic instantly. “Ding. Ding.Ding” – friend requests coming in effortlessly. Exploration just began.
His thoughts were were interrupted by his mind reminding of a stare, this time with more deatils. A possibly masculine guy 3 tables away. There were very few people. He felt the stare was intense. He wanted to see who it was but sensed the the figure got up from his table and started walking towards him.Sam’s heart started beating fast. The figure had approached his table with a soft “hi”. Sam lifted his head with a “hi” and just froze after reading whats written on this stranger’s body hugging t-shirt.
