I had been at the university more than 2 years before I finally had the courage to check out the gym. The events had profound effect on my life which led me to go into more and more detail. Next thing I know, it became a small novel. A few things have been changed to protect people’s identities and prevent an “I know him” moment. What is written is about 99% as they occurred. The back and forth conversations between me and one of the persons did not always happen as written. Some details have been lost over the years but what is included are things we have said to each other and mirrors how we interact even to this day. The person I had the encounter with helped me write the post and recall the little details.
By breaking things up, each person can go with what floats their boat. Anyone with time (lots of time) can read from start to finish. The first part give some background. Those that want to read about the encounter can do a search and skip to “Part 2.” “Part 3” is a follow up with some insight in the previous chapters. “Part 4” is a strange forced encounter that may not suit everyone’s tastes. Finally there is “Part 5” which in an epilogue to close out the post.

Now to the new story.
After the year spent in part fucking Phoebe in grad school, I transferred to another school that offered better job prospects for me. Being a transfer at a new school, I initially had some trouble making friends. A couple months in, I joined a club and tried to stay active in it, just hoping to meet people.
I went to the first meeting and liked the people, so I kept going and started to make some friends there. I’m Mindy. I am married to Don, with a daughter, Charvi, now nineteen and a son Jax, now sixteen. But this is more about Kerri and me. Later it is about Jules and Charvi as well.
On her first day at Junior High, Charvi met Jules, Julie-Ann, and they have been friends ever since. Over the course of the next few years, Don and I seemed to be running in to Kerri and then husband, Bill, fairly frequently. Kerri I really liked, Bill – well, not.
