Ethan looked deep into my eyes. I felt so vulnerable and weak. His hand curled softly around my waist as he closed the gap between us. My heart raced. Not sure if I was nervous or scared, I tried to step back. His hand held me firmly in place though.
‘Audrei, there’s no need to run away. I won’t hurt you if you don’t want me to.’ Ethan’s voice was low and hushed, even though we were alone in the apartment. What did he mean if I didn’t want him to? I wish I had the courage to look in his eyes, but my gaze was glued to the floor. ‘Can I touch your face?’ He whispered. All I could do was nod.
His large hand grazed the line of my jaw and I finally met his gaze. As I did, I came to the realization that I wasn’t scared of him. He was so gentle and calm. In reality, I had been eager to feel his touch, and even this close, I wish he’d come closer. ‘How do you feel, Gorgeous?’ He called me gorgeous. My cheeks flushed.
