“C’mon just another mile.”
“Alright I’m coming.”
Tina and I had been hiking for a few hours now. We were field researchers coming out to see the northern lights, we had a large sled of scientific equipment with us. We were hiking up a mountain to get the best view possible. After a few hours, we made it to an outlook over the arctic sea. The sun was dipping under the horizon and by our calculations, the lights would be shining soon.
“Tina help me set up the camp.”
“Why?” she asked as she took the equipment from me.
“It’s gonna be too dark to hike after the lights, gonna have to camp out.”
“Do we have heaters?”
“Yup.” out of the sled of equipment I pulled out a snazzy little survival heater.
She nodded and we got to work building the large tent and setting up the equipment and generator. We had done this multiple times through the years and had it down to a science. What used to take three or four hours took maybe thirty minutes. We set up our camera to tape the lights. It was worth more than some houses and the videos it took showed it.
