This is a bit long, and more build-up than anything, but here goes…
About seven or eight years back, I took a short term managing position with a company. I was to manage a team of about 25-30 mostly temporary employees for about a six month project. It wasn’t supposed to very exciting, but the pay was good, and I was looking for something new to do.
About my second day on the job, I received an email on my personal account. I didn’t recognize the sender’s name, and it wasn’t a specific person’s name – more along the lines of “flowergirl789@gmail” or something like that. I read it over, and it was vague, but friendly. “So glad to have you as our new director. I hope you have a good time with our company. I’m looking forward to meeting you and working for you.” The email wasn’t signed. I hadn’t really even learned everyone’s names yet, but clearly whomever sent this email was being coy and keeping their identity a secret on purpose.
