The Chair
It was a lazy Sunday as per usual. I was just sitting on the couch putting in some much-needed downtime playing Mario Kart on my SNES. Jesi decided to hit the local market and would probably go to Whole Foods to get something for dinner. That was her normal Sunday routine. If I was lucky, maybe we’d fool around a little tonight.
It wasn’t long before I heard her keys in the door. I got up to help her in and put the stuff away. Oddly enough, there weren’t any Whole Foods bags or veggies from the market. Just one bag, and I didn’t recognize it.
“What’s in here?” I asked, reaching for the mysterious bag.
“Never you mind, it’s a surprise!” She jockeyed the bag just out of my reach. This only served to arouse my suspicion more. Go back to your game, I’ll let you in on it shortly.
“OK!” I went back to my games, but I surely paid attention to what was going on. She disappeared into the bedroom, and in a few minutes came out and dragged a chair from the table into the room with her.
