Ellie stares at me through ocean-blue eyes as her full, puffy lips twist in a coy smile. “Guess it’s just you and me today, Addie.” She wiggles on her yoga mat as she gets comfortable, tights emphasizing the feminine curves of her body.
“Guess so,” I say, looking about the empty studio as I try to escape the hypnotic quality of her gaze. Those eyes, like dark opals, glitter with the promise of a lurid secret. My palms are already sweaty.
“What do ya think of the ambiance?” she says, flipping her raven hair and sticking out her chin as she watches me.
“You mean the candles?” I say, pointing to the fluttering electric lights that line the walls. The only source of light, they cast a sultry glow over the dusky room. “They’re nice,” I say with a grunt. The butterflies in my stomach are turning my brain to mush.
“Right? Thought I’d try something different today.” Her voice bubbles with a sing-song quality.
I nod, not sure what else to do.
