Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger have both returned to Hogwarts as professors at the request of new the Headmaster – Professor Flitwick.
Malfoy, the new potions professor, had no idea that the defence against the dark arts post was open, let alone newly filled by that bloody mud-blood.
The enmity and tension between the old rivals had been simmering for weeks, both of them walking a fine line.
At the end of a busy week, as Professor Granger was clearing away test papers, Malfoy ghosted up behind her, grabbed a handful of her shoulder length bushy hair, twisting her head up and back towards his face.
She gasped, too shocked to process what was happening as Malfoy’s free hand cast a warding spell on the classroom door, slamming it shut.
He twisted her further round so he could look straight into her eyes. He whispered, holding eye contact without blinking;
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this. It’s time to take what you owe me.”
His free hand snapped up, giving her a sharp, hard slap across her face.
She staggered from the shock, held up only by the tight grip on her hair.
Grasping her quickly and tightly by her throat and releasing the grip on her hair, he spun her to face him and pushed her back against the desk.
Hermione noticed something strange. Malfoy’s skin was cold, dry, unlike anything she’d felt since…since the battle. Since the Dementors.
She shivered with fear and anticipation, reached both her hands up to try and wrest Malfoy’s cold grip from around her throat but his grip tightened as she started to choke her. Dimly, as her vision popped and sparked, she realised she’d wet herself.
Another hard slap and a callous whisper
“Struggle if you must, you disgusting mudblood. It won’t achieve anything.”
He leant forward, his tongue flicked out and licked the flushed, livid mark on her cheek.
“You’re mine, Granger. I’m going to enjoy this and in time maybe you will too.”
Hermione’s last thought as Malfoy pushed her to her knees was that his tongue was ice cold too, did that mean…?
