By the time Joe found himself in the bathroom of her apartment, Googling the logo she had tattooed on her forearm, it was already too late. One drink had completely overwhelmed him, and the room was spinning faster and faster. For the years following what had been called “The Great Shift,” he had always been so careful, but this time he’d let down his guard and for that he was about to pay.
Growing up in the early 2000’s, Joe always felt like he stayed towards the middle on things; he focused on being a good human first, and everything else second. Even in his early 20’s, as the world changed into a dystopian society where even the idea of what defined a woman was openly questioned, he tried to rationalize both sides of the argument. It was a bit of a surprise that during the uprisings leading to the shift, that he would openly support the side of the biological females pushing to have control of society.
