THE BOSS
“I need that sales analytics report on my desk by the end of the day, seriously.”
Ugh. This was one of those days I hated my boss Ted. We had been slaving away in our cubicles for most of the past week, and now on Friday he was going to make me stay late to finish this stupid report. I had been working at the company for 5 years now—it made air-conditioning systems for large buildings. Ted had been my boss the whole time, as I worked up from Junior Analyst, to Senior Analyst, and hopefully Product Manager soon. Usually we got along… despite him being a little bit macho and a bit of an asshole when it came to business, he was typically decent. Except when you owed him something
“I’ll do my best…” I started
“I need it tonight. Whether that requires your best or more is up to you.” Ted walked away, and back to his corner office.
