The server brings your dry and dirty martini, placing it just in front of you, snapping you out of the little dream you were just having as you looked out the window on the train, “here is your martini, extra dirty” the server smiles with a wink.
Placing the glass to your lip you are reminded of the little fantasy that had been playing in your mind before being interrupted. Foot steps break your concentration once more and you look back into the train car to see me approaching.
Your heart flutters, butterflies dance in your tummy and you feel your face flush, I catch your subtle embarrassment and it makes me smile. “scotch neat” I say to the bartender, he jumps to it and I feel you watching me as I wait for my drink.
I take my drink and find a booth close to you, but not directly in front of you, I place my drink and book on the table and start to get settled… “unstoppable by Dave Anderson” you blurt out by accident.
