Kudos to another poster’s road head story from last week, it brought back a pleasant memory from college. Figured I would share.
We were road tripping to Spring Break in Florida my Senior year. Ultimately we had a group of about 25 guys and about ten girls, so we had multiple cars over two days. My roommate and I wanted to save as much money for booze as we could, so we had agreed to ride down with some of the girls we knew. A few days prior to the trip one of the girls named Jessica said she had an option to pay for our gas in full if we were willing to take a little detour.
Her father owned an auto dealership and had just sold an used car to some pastor in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon learning his daughter was on her way to the Sunshine State he proposed to the pastor that he could save everyone money and time and have her deliver it. Jessica, though, was petrified of driving through Atlanta so she offered that if either I or my roommate drove the car her dad would pay for all the gas for the trip down and back and throw in an extra 100.00. Once we dropped the car off in Jacksonville we would pile in with the rest of the crew for the remainder of the distance to the beach. I agreed.
