o this happened some time ago. My twin sister and I just turned 18 and celebrating with my parents, our Aunt Carole, and my sisters best friend. My family has always been very honest with each other. We don’t censor things. That evening, the topic of sex came up. I think we were talking about a recent movie with a fairly erotic scene.
My parents said something to the effect of “be safe out there and don’t rush into anything.” My sister, always the outspoken one, laughed and replied, “you two weren’t!”
What she was referring to was the fact that my parents were married for a few months less than me and my sister’s age, so you can do the math and figure out what she meant.
My mom replied, “Do as we say, not as we did.”
My sister wasn’t going to let it go. For the first time, at least the first time I know of, she asked our parents right then and there what happened the night we were conceived. We were both over 18, so it wasn’t subject matter we couldn’t hear.
