We walked down the street from the house to a restaurant about a quarter of a mile down the road. It took us forever to order and then took us even longer to get our food. Of course it didn’t bother us too much because we spent the time talking about school and catching up. We decided our plan was to hit the beach after breakfast and then chill around the house and in the pool and hot tub in the evening.
When we finished eating I suggested Mari and Adam head back and get ready for the beach while we stayed to pay because I assumed it would take ten or fifteen more minutes to get someone’s attention to pay and process the payment.
They took off and headed to back to the house and it was only a couple of minutes before the waitress dropped off the check and I gave her my card. Another two minutes and she returned with my receipt, I signed it, and we were on our way back to the house.
