The little Ecto-Cooler (a neon-green Civic hatch-back) pulled in front of me once more in our leap-frog game. I lost track at how many hours we had been keeping this little game of ours up but it kept the monotonous road trip mildly entertaining. I was heading back early from a family vacation 4 states away, because air-fare was super expensive, couldn’t take the full time off and I was a broke mid-twenties data entry worker. The “Ecto” pulled off the next off-ramp and I followed suit knowing they were probably as low on gas as I was.
The little car pulled into the gas station and I pulled into the second island as to keep-it-cool. I stretched my legs, pulled on sore muscles and joints and put the nozzle into my car. I kinda zoned out, my eyes eventually wandering over to the Ecto. I finally caught sight of its driver for the first time as the windows were so heavily tinted. A small little female Asian number about 105lbs soaking wet and 5 foot nothing if I was to guess. I smirked to myself thinking of the whole “rice-rocket” stereotype. She caught my eye and did a head nod of ‘sup!’. I did the same and that was that. Cute, petite, looked to be anywhere between 18 and 35 because Asian genes. But guessing from her outfit and car color choice, I would put her at 23-25ish.
