To say I’ve struggled with my sexuality wouldn’t be fair. I’ve always known I wasn’t totally straight and I’ve come to understand that sexuality is more fluid and a spectrum than binary. I know some might not agree and hope you’ll respect this isn’t the platform for mean spirited debates about sexuality or my sex life :)
The summer before college I was in a weird headspace. Life was changing, my high school boyfriend and I broke up, and I was about to move about 2,000 miles away to a school I wasn’t even totally true I wanted to attend. The one thing I had to look forward to was camp.
Every summer since I was 13 my parents sent me to sleep away camp. It’s where I learned to camp, swim, kiss guys, make fires and overall just get into no good. Eventually, being the ultimate camper led me to being a counselor in training and eventually a chief counselor.
My friend Zoe wasn’t really into the whole camp thing, but her parents owned the camp and made her my co-head of activities. We’re both short with naturally brown hair, but I would describe her body as a little more curvy than mine and she was far more blessed in the chest then me. She also wasn’t shy about it.
