The entire area around this hotel has several outstanding shops and restaurants and always seems to have some sort of festival that just creates an intoxicating energy. On this specific trip, the hotel and the surrounding area are celebrating Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead as we refer to it in the States. The hotel is decorated in tens of thousands of mums with hundreds of candles lighting the lobby area, the main bar and the restaurant. The plaza is filled with dozens of ofrenda’s, each also covered in mums of yellow and orange and lit by dozens of candles. One area next to the hotel has about 75 large lanterns hanging down, each containing several candles that just created an environment that was almost magical.
