I wandered into Angies bar and grill shortly before 1. I didn’t want to seem eager. I had already cleaned up the blood so I looked a little better, though I’m not sure if her pitying me was such a horrible thing.
I walked in and went to the bar, sitting where only one other person was sitting, he was glued to the tv that was tuned to the view. His cigarette was almost out and it looked as if he never took a single drag of it. The entire thing was ash, smoldering ash, perfectly balanced between his fingers.
I stared in amazement. I blinked out of the trace and looked around, I didn’t see her anywhere.
“You found us.” She said with smile. I couldn’t see her but I could tell she was smiling. Fuck me she’s sweet.
Angie walked up from behind me and went around the bar. She was smiling when’s he walked into my field of view.
“Yeah, I found you. It’s a nice little place.” I say trying not to gesture to the statue at the other end but I failed and she noticed my eye movement towards him.
