“Daphne, we really must start looking for suitors for Helena.” King Theodore whispered in his wife’s ear outside his bed chamber. Two weeks had passed since Helena’s birthday celebrations, and Theodore was getting nervous about the Queens lack of urgency in the matter. Theodore had planned on wedding his daughter to a Prince from a family who had incredible military power — a nice person to have on your side — however, the arrangement had fallen through at short notice due to the Prince’s fall from grace after losing a battle to a raiding clan.
“Of course. We shall discuss it further in the morning.” – Daphne had no desire to find a suitor for her daughter. She knew from her own experience as a young princess how the pressure of securing a successful marriage had driven her to make a hasty decision, not that she disliked Theodore, but love never came into the equation.
Daphne entered her bed chamber, greeted by her maids, who wordlessly moved towards her to help her undress.
“No, I’m not going to bed just yet. Tell Adonis I need his assistance tonight. Thank you.”
