Two days later, Amy decided she wanted to go to her parents’ to visit.
“I don’t feel so great,” Bill said, “but you and the kids can still go. Enjoy yourselves.”
“You’re sure?” asked Amy. Bill nodded.
“I’ll be fine,” he said. “I’ll probably just sleep and if I need anything I can go get it.”
“Ok,” said Amy. It took an hour for her to get herself and the kids ready and then they left.
Bill waited a good thirty minutes before he left and drove to the address Olivia gave him. He rang the doorbell and was surprised to not hear a dog. Olivia answered the door in a black silk robe. She smiled and let him in.
“I thought you were dog sitting,” said Bill.
“Pet sitting,” said Olivia. She pulled him by his pants to the living room.
“What are you pet sitting?” asked Bill as he sat on the couch.
“Cats,” said Olivia. “They are these people’s pride and joy and they spoil them rotten, but I get paid and get cable, so.”
