I glanced up to find that what had blocked my sun was actually my coworker Emily stopped in front of me and leaning out her car window. “Well?” She said.
“I live pretty far.”
“How far?”
“Twenty, twenty-five minutes maybe?”
“Works for me, get in.” she said with a slight smile.
I crushed the cigarette I had been absentmindedly holding against the curb and strolled around to the passenger side of her car.
“Are those extra five minutes for how long it takes you to get in the car?” she said with a smirk. I laughed and gave her my address as we pulled out of the parking lot.
