I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant. I asked Letti five minutes ago to look up the menu and prices. She still hadn’t answered me, completely absorbed in her phone. “Well?” I asked.
“Let’s just go in, I’m mediating a debate in the chat right now and all hell is going to break loose if I leave.”
I gave her a pensive stare. She always put herself in the middle of these things. She was a peacemaker, but she rarely got the same in return.
“What’s the debate about?”
“Hold on.” Her thumbs punched furiously on the keyboard, brow furrowed.
“Letti,” I said after she didn’t answer me.
“Typical family drama,” she muttered.
“Anyone hurt?”
“No, it’s honestly really stupid. Jared told Ashley that-” she stopped as I snatched her phone.
“They’ll be fine on their own for an hour.” I slipped her phone into my coat pocket. Her eyes followed it.
“Seriously?” She was irate, eyes fiery. I could almost feel static shocks from the brat energy pulsing in the air.
“Why don’t you focus your attention on those who will charge your battery, not drain it. Hm?”
