It had been a perfect day. I married my best friend and everything had gone off without a hitch. I could gush about it all day. The ceremony was beautiful. The reception was amazing. Everyone that was important to us was there. It was just incredible. The cake has been cut and served. We had made the rounds and said thank you to everyone for coming and now it was time to go. We headed out through a sea of bubbles and friends to our getaway vehicle and we were off.
That night we are staying at a great little bed and breakfast for our first night together. During the 20 minute car ride to the inn we held hands and talked about the day. How beautiful everything was. How the pictures would turn out. How good the best man’s toast was. Can you believe he was hitting on your cousin. It was great and the time flew by. A few minutes before we arrive he got a text. I hate it when he uses his phone while driving so I told him to “hand it over”. He did and it was from a member of his wedding party who is married to my good friend also in the wedding party. The text says: “We just left. Everything is all set. Have a good night mate!” “Why is he telling you everything is all set?” I asked. “Don’t worry about it.” He replied. “What is going on?” I asked slyly not receiving an immediate answer.
