It was the first week after the snow flew, and I was getting ready to move to a new town. Being this place had absolutely awful winters, I felt I was moving out at just the right time, and looked forward to being somewhere a little more tropical by temperature alone. There would still be snow, but I wouldn’t be freezing my balls off each time I stepped outside. Thank goodness for that.
A girl I knew had moved into town about two weeks before, and was absolutely devastated to find out I was leaving so soon. So often life seems to throw a curveball like that and we aren’t sure how to respond. We want to treasure every last moment, but the time is short and we don’t want to look too weird. I felt a strong emotional connection with her too, and didn’t want to damage it in the long run, because it came in handy whenever we ran into each other somewhere else. Strong bonds make for lifelong friendships.
