So this happened a few weeks ago. I frequent this sub, and I just want to give something back to you all. I’m not an English teacher, so I apologize for the possibility of less than perfect spelling and grammar. The transition to the dirty bits is marked below if you are impatient.
I matched with a girl named Hannah a couple weeks ago. She was young, and I honestly didn’t remember swiping on her at all. When she matched, she messaged right away. I immediately assumed the profile was a bot, but I was surprised by the message that said, “So you tryn’a smash with one of your old students?”
I panicked because until that moment I had a self-imposed no interaction policy with former students. I checked her profile and I did recognize her! I had seen her in passing hanging out in the halls or during lunch. She was friends with a number of my students, however she never actually took a class with me. I basically apologized to her, told her that I didn’t mean to match with her and that even though she was very attractive it might be best that we go our separate ways. I know what you’re thinking. Yes we are two consenting adults, but I live in a small town. People talk, people are judgmental, and you can lose your job over frivolous things. I like my job and usually I’m not looking for that kind of complication to interfere with what I love doing.
