A little backstory:
Towards the end of high school, I invited one of my best friends (BF) to join a prom group that already had a bunch of singles in it, to try to get him to meet someone. I never had a problem wooing girls, but he has this quality that I’ve always admired about him: he communicates with everyone the same way, regardless of gender. So in short, he hadn’t really talked to girls for longer than about a minute. At the dance, he still sort of sat on the sidelines, and I knew I had to help him out. I knew one of my girl friends (GF) had just gotten out of a horrible breakup not too long ago, and I took it upon myself to “set them up” by telling each one that the other was interested in them. Before long, they were going out.
