Very tame post here, fairly short, but maybe other Redditors have had a similar experience. I generally date within my age group, which has held true when matching up on Tinder and Bumble, but there seems to be fewer women my age on the apps these days (or at least ones that appeal to me). Thanks to a few good genes, I’m not looking too vintage. Think the blond Cobra Kai character Johnny Lawrence. We’re the same age, though I gave up on martial arts long ago (can’t do those roundhouses very well anymore).
Anyway, the point of the story, for kicks (see what I did there) I started widening my age preference, sometimes down to the thirties, even as low as 26 for a few days last summer (Canada was doing a lot better with Covid during that time). After getting past the ones that were looking for a sugar daddy, I matched with and ended up dating a 26 year old. Despite the age difference, we hit it off, largely because she was so intelligent and well read, with a lot of experience packed into those 26 years. The sex was good (maybe too good, as it was sometimes difficult to keep up with her).
