I had worked with Kate for a couple of years, and we enjoyed hanging out and taking our lunch breaks together.
We never flirted or anything, and I never really thought she was interested in anything more than friendship.
We had talked for long time about doing something together in our spare time.
I invited her to go kayaking at a nice place I grew up close to.
She happily accepted, and a couple of days later I picked her up outside her apartment.
I had my two kayaks on the car roof, and all the gear we needed. She was in charge of the food and drinks.
We got to the lake and I gave her some instructions on how she had to do stuff in the kayak.
She was dressed in a shorts and a t-shirt. I sat down beside her and said that I had to touch her legs a bit to make sure she used the kayak the best way. She responded quickly that she would have no trouble with that. I reached down and made sure her legs was in the right positions. I noticed her smooth skin and for the first time I thought about her as something more than a friend. I was suddenly drawn to her.
