He is a third year university student and I was assigned several times to conduct psychiatry tutorials for his group. Few months ago he visited me at the hospital, crying. He had asked out a girl and got rejected. I assessed him and diagnosed him with depression so I prescribed him some SSRI antidepressants. I asked him to meet me biweekly.
I was planning on going abroad for my higher education for two years, and I informed that to all of my patients including him two months ago. He showed a good progress, but still failed an exam due to lack of studying. I received my visa last week, so I assigned him to my consultant when he came on Friday.
Yesterday he texted me and said he want to meet me for a few minutes, and I asked him to visit my room as usual. He came and sat by my desk quietly. He started saying how much good doctor I am for listening him patiently for the past few months. He stated crying and told me that he won’t be planning to visit the consultant as he’s not friendly as me.
