This story happened a couple of months ago, back when I was still at university and pretending to keep up with online school. u/kinghenrysmistress and I had met on twitter about a month before, and though we lived a few states away from each other, the connection was instant. We texted and facetimed each other constantly, and the more we did the longer the distance seemed. I didn’t have a car, and there were no public transit options to her state, but didn’t feel right making her drive all the way to me, but she had other thoughts on the matter.
I woke up from a nap one afternoon and checked my phone.
“I’m on my way to (your state), see you this evening ;)”
I scrambled to tidy up my apartment and myself. Once I was ready, all I could do was pace in anticipation of the weekend to come. We hadn’t met in person before; what if she got there and didn’t find me attractive, what if we just didn’t click, etc.? I decided I was overthinking it and tried to watch netflix for the remaining couple of hours.
