“Hi Hannah!” Eva’s cheerful voice and bright smile greeted me at the doorstep. “We were just wondering where you were”, she continued. Behind her was Anna, who waved hello at me. I smiled back. “Hi guys, sorry about the delay, the bus was running late thanks to the snow.” The snowing had continued for a few days now, and it had promptly started right after our exams. As a celebration for surviving the first half of the academic year, Eva had invited Anna and me for a little slumber party.
I stepped in. The scent of gingerbread already reached my nose. We shared hugs and our how-are-yous, and after I took off my winter jacket we entered the living room. They had both slipped into their pyjamas already. Eva was a tall girl with curly light brown hair to the shoulders; her onesie pyjamas depicted the same coloured teddy bears with a light green base. Anna on the other hand was about my height, with short black bangs and thick black glasses. She had a pair of light grey two-piece pyjamas. One of the reasons I adored my friends is that they shared my appreciation for these wonderfully cliché Christmas celebrations and pyjama parties. The little plastic Christmas tree bought on a student’s budget breathed new life to her living room.
