When my best friend told the group chat that she broke up with her boyfriend, no one was really surprised. They fought all the time and honestly, three years were longer than anyone in our friend group expected the relationship would last.
It was especially, excruciatingly long for me.
I knew him way before she did. He was a couple of years older than me and we went to the same middle school together and witnessed each other’s awkward years, but we were never in contact after that. So I was taken aback when I saw him and his friends at our college bar during my sophomore year. He got really hot. I was there with my girl friends including my best friend who would later ask me to introduce her to him and would end up in a relationship together.
