I always thought when Jerry died, I’d be the first one to see it. Not that I’d go out of my way to be there. He always tried to relive the glory days. Picturing himself back on the field, hitting his fifth home run, or sliding into home plate to close a game. We had been together for as long as I remember, even if I wasn’t sold on the idea. He made a point of inviting me out to every party he threw, which at least made high school bearable for me. I wish I could say I stayed in touch after graduation, but I’d be lying. Jerry never gave up, though; he called me up whenever he heard I was in town, and sometimes I’d even stop by to drink a few rounds with him. He talked about the same stuff as always. The big game of our last year and how we brought the win home. It got repetitive, but I kept enough alcohol in my blood to numb out the monotonous parts.

Haunted Hotel [MF, Supernatural, Fiction]
I always wanted to make a name for myself, so I did my best to stand out in the crowd however I could. From climbing the tallest tree in the park when I was a kid to skydiving fresh out of high school. I did everything I could to make a name for myself, even if no one asked me to. It’s why, like everyone else, I wanted to be famous. Nowadays, people could upload videos of just about anything and strike it rich. Pulling in new fame overnight suddenly became a reality, and I wanted that more than anything for myself. I honestly deserved it.
So, I took one of my lesser interests and tried turning it into something that could make me into a household name. Ghost hunting has always been popular; people claiming to see spirits and encountering monsters in shady out-of-the-way places. I started small with my channel at first. Visiting local haunts until I got myself a decent fanbase to support me. The old camera I used was quickly replaced with a shiny new one as soon I made enough to pay for it. I thanked them for backing my hard work; happy things were paying off, but I still needed something better. It’s not like I’m the only one out there trying to get footage of the things that go bump in the night. As much as I wanted to rest on my laurels, I know I can’t and turn to the internet for help.
