It all started a few months ago. I wasn’t really leaving my house except for work and had nothing going on in terms of friends- most of them ghosting me over the course of the pandemic.
One day I decided to start going to the local gym that is less than 10 minutes walk from my home. Just to get out.
Well, on my first session there, I just happened to meet my neighbour. He is a funny guy that, paired with his dadbod and 10+ years on me, is exactly my type. I had never really thought about him in this way until I saw him in the gym, sweating and joking about how shit he was at exercise. I trained near him for about an hour before setting off- exactly at the same time as him.
We walked each other home and waved goodbye. I lingered by my door perhaps a little too long, hoping he’d come in. He lingered as well but ended up going home.
