The sound of her black strapped heels against the marble floor echoed through the lobby as she entered spinning glass doors of the Secrets Aura Cozumel forcing everyone within ear shot to turn and look. She could feel everyone’s eyes upon her. Her linen white pants swayed perfectly in the open air breeze of the lobby and allowed just a bit of air to sneak under her clothing giving her a warm tingle to her skin. Her green rank top rested tightly against her skin and showed just the perfect amount of cleavage. Her brown purse was over her left shoulder and she pulled behind her a Dior and Rimowa Cabin carry-on bag. She was confident and her radiance glowed brighter than the midday sun. She walked with a sense of purpose to the front desk to check-in. When she arrived there she could feel the warmth of the place and it settled her into a calm she yearned for.

Blue Dress
A “Ding” came from the nearby cell phone that was resting on his office desk. John reached for it. The message from Christy said “Are you coming home for lunch?”. John typed a message back “Yes”. He waited for a response. Another “ding”. Christy said “What time?”. John replied “What time do you want me to come home for lunch?” Almost instantly she messaged back “Now!”.
John hopped up from his desk, logged off his computer and locked his office door on his way out. He didn’t know what to think. Part of him thought something awful might have happened or maybe she just wanted to see him. It only took him ten minutes to get to his house. He spoke to his neighbor briefly, unlocked his front door and entered the house fully expecting Christy to be there already waiting for him. He was disappointed when she wasn’t. He waited patiently. Another “ding” from his phone notified him of another message. Christy said “Distract the neighbor.” John did as he was asked and went next door to smoke a cigarette with the neighbor. He had quit smoking for about a week or so and didn’t enjoy smoking, but it was the best way to distract the neighbor. Once the neighbor was outside and distracted, he messaged back “Go.”. John chatted a bit with the neighbor until he received another message from Christy saying “I’m in.” He told the neighbor he had to go eat lunch and moved towards his house. He got to his front door as quickly as he could and entered the house.
Sugar Grove Vacation
The four hour flight was not nearly as bad as a nine hour drive would have been. They arrived late in the evening just before sunset. Checking in to the Sugar Grove cabin in North Carolina was a easy as could be. The key was left under the front door mat as they expected. Carrying a couple of bags in was a breeze and they were both immediately stunned by the pure joy they both felt as they were finally alone for the first time since last summer.
The living room had a huge wooden vaulted ceiling that had to be at least 15 feet high with a brick fire place that spanned the entire middle of the wall from floor to ceiling. It felt like an old castle. The fire place was surrounded by beautiful clear glass on either side overlooking the mountains beyond the ever expansive tree line. The Appalachian mountains were truly a sight to behold especially at this time of day and year. Fog covered the bottom parts of the mountains as the sunset was right over the horizon. The orange glow of the lowering sun turned the mountains below blue in color. It was a constant assortment of colors that pierced their eyes and they held each other and watched in awe. It reminded them of a time before when they were together, alone watching a inspiring moon late at night.
