A year ago I graduated from a Big Ten university (so in the midwest) and got a job about an hour and a half outside of my college town, basically in the middle of fucking nowhere, surrounded by a very small village and lots of corn, which is where I type this story at this very moment. I found an apartment mid-way between work and all my friends who were still in/living around school, but it is still far enough to be a little bit of a hassle to make the drive more than once a week or so. Growing up in a major city on the East Coast, this was an adjustment. There aren’t a lot of people my age in the town I live in, and the ones that are my age often fall into kind of the white trash face tattoo having demographic, so dating can be tough.
It gets a bit lonely around home. To keep myself entertained I would mess around on Tinder and Bumble trying to find some cute local girls, of which there aren’t too many. I found myself increasing my search distance more and more by the day. Depressed yet? Don’t worry, time for the good stuff.
