After picking me up, David[28M] and I headed to a nice restaurant. He was surprisingly nerdy and humorous, which I loved. lovely and adorable. He acknowledged my nerdiness, showed admiration, and even had knowledge that was almost as geeky as I do. I won’t lie; I had a great time. The supper was over and the restaurant was shutting before I wanted it to. He recommended that we extend the night because he appeared to be enjoying himself just as much as I was (I certainly hope).
Despite the fact that it was nearly 11:00, we went to the spoons and stayed for a few more beers at the pub till it closed. It was a wonderful evening. He was particularly good at giving compliments—not too many, maintaining the delicate balance between being appreciative and seeming weird. An absolute gentleman. He bought drinks despite my insistence that we split the meal, which irritated me (and made me blush). Because he was driving, he didn’t drink much, and I would have insisted on splitting them too, but in this area, Spoons operates by having you place your orders on your phone and having the personnel bring the drinks to you. Before I could even get my phone out, another one arrived as soon as my drink was finished. Since I only once saw him take his phone out, I sincerely don’t know how he did it. He offered to drive us back to his house for a few more drinks, but as usual, they closed quite early. He was quite tactful about it as well, first asking if I was sleepy before bringing up his house and giving me a simple way to end the night if I didn’t want to.
