[GROUP] Cousins Retreat Part II

Right after our cottage weekend together the Covid pandemic started and brought the world to a stand still. The government locked down the country and everyone was told to isolate themselves – even from close family and friends.

After a few weeks of being couped up alone we decided to sneak out and visit Sean and Eve for the weekend. We were dying for some socialization, but I’d be lying if I said what happened at the cottage wasn’t also on my mind. We spent the day playing lots of card games, laughing, and eventually drinking. [FM] Cousins Retreat

Very true story – names have been changed. This happened about 4 years ago.

My cousins and I have always been good friends. As we all got older and our interests aligned (mostly drinking, eating and partying) we became even more of a tight nit group. We had rented a cottage for the week – unfortunately life got in the way so we were kind of staggered, all of us showing up and leaving at different times. By the end of the week it was just me, my wife Laura, my cousin Sean and his wife Eve. The 4 of us were the core of the group. We lived close by each other, we were similar in age and Sean and I always had a very strong relationship. Read more »
