We pulled up after sundown and the party had already started. Some old highschool friends had invited me over to meet my new girlfriend and we pulled up just as the guys were coming outside for a smoke. Jim lit up a cigarette and passed it to Glenn. Jason stood with them holding a beer and nudged Glenn, pointing at the car.
“Hey! There’s the son of a Bitch now! Get your ass out here you bastard!” Glenn hollered, waving us over. The three of them whooped and yelled out at us like a couple of frat boys. I palmed my face and shook my head in faux shame. Amy giggled at me and squeezed my upper arm.
“I’m sure I’m going to get along with them just fine, they look like a lot of fun!” I gave her a look of confusion, half jokingly. “Oh don’t even! It’ll be fine now come on. Get your ass out of the car and introduce me!”
