A [F]orrest Gu[M]p Kind of Day

More of my misadventures from Los Angeles.

[My previous story](https://www.reddit.com/r/gonewildstories/comments/6iil32/my_introduction_to_california/)

There will be a little bit of set-up here but I’ll try and get to the good parts quickly, so bear with me please.

Through work I met a guy named Jerry and helped him out in a big way, mainly because it didn’t inconvenience me too much and he seemed like a nice guy. He was adamant about returning the favor so we swapped phone numbers with him promising to get in touch with me. I had no belief he that he would though, it’s an L.A. thing but low-and-behold a week or two later he texted me and asked what my plans for Labor Day were as it was only a few days away. I was off work and didn’t have any plans and told him as much so he invited me to the pool party at the Standard Hotel on Sunset. I hadn’t been to the Sunset Strip yet but I was aware of it and it’s notorious nature so I agreed and told him I’d be flying solo which he claimed wouldn’t be an issue.

[M]y Introduction to Cali[F]ornia

Once upon a time I lived in Los Angeles.

I was born and raised in the southeastern United States until I up and moved to L.A. one day for a change of scenery. I was officially moved into my apartment on a Monday afternoon and spent the week unpacking and trying to get the feng shui of the apartment just right, so when Friday night rolled around I was getting a little stir crazy. There was a little dive bar about 2 blocks from my apartment that I decided to check out, I’ve always been a dive bar guy so I was happy to find that it was just right; not too big, awesome jukebox and a mixed crowd of old and young. I saddled up to the bar, ordered a beer and took in my surroundings.

A little about myself, I’m 6’0 with blonde hair and blue eyes and at the time I was clocking in at about 200 lbs of solid muscle and in my early 20’s, I’ve been described as a 7, an 8 in a suit. Growing up in the southeast I also speak with a slight drawl which people seem to like.
