Hey gang, wanted to check-in on the state of the sub and get some suggestions/feedback from all of you.

With the recent post about users stealing content, I changed a couple settings. The main one being that (if all is working properly), only text submissions will be allowed. This means people won’t be able to submit only blog sites, hopefully cutting down on some reports. I also disallowed crossposting and image posting, as neither of these are necessary in erotica and will hopefully also contribute to a neater environment.

I know the mods haven’t been too active (although I did post a 1k word story recently, my first in forever!) and I want to apologize for that.

Having said all that, I’d like to hear from the community how we can grow and engage everyone so that this sub can be the best it can be.

I want to give a space to people to promote their books, it’s a bit archaic to disallow them completely. I see no reason to prohibit writers’ hard work as long as it’s not drowning the sub. I think this is a good compromise.

Please, in the beginning of your post, clarify wether it’s a [book] or a [blog], to help people search and slightly organized. Then the title and however many sentences you wish to describe what you’ve written!

Do you guys think we should allow users to post other people’s work? They would need to give credit of course, but it could be a good place to share work you enjoy and begin a conversation.

Also, do we think monthly is good? Or just a big ol’ megathread? If you have other suggestions, please comment in the other stickied thread. Thanks!

Couple of announcements for you lovely people!

1. I’m going to open this sub up to outside submissions (i.e. stories from literotica, etc.). In my previous stickied thread, a good amount of you said you wanted to see more free content, so have at it! The main reason it was frowned upon was because in the nsfw world there is increased risk of malicious websites, but you guys do a good job of reporting, so I think we can handle it.
1. I’m going to hold a contest! It will start at the beginning of June, and run for a month (not sure exactly how active this sub is, so want to give everyone a chance to participate). The contest will be to write a story, probably between 500-2000 words. I’d like some feedback from you guys on this – do you want it to have a theme, or free for all? I imagine we all have pretty unique tastes, so I’m hesitant on having a theme. For prizes I was thinking the winning story could be stickied for a month, and maybe I’d throw in a month of gold :)

I wanted to let you know that I've decided to lift the restriction on outside posts.

The new system will work like this:

• I've created new flairs for submitted posts. Right now there are three: Original Content, Blog, and Amazon. Please comment with ideas for more if you have any!
• With this new update, I'm easing the "spam" filter on outside links. This will require you guys to do more policing, please report any links that you think I should remove since they won't be removed automatically anymore.

I will edit the sidebar tonight to reflect these changes.

I would like this community to interact more. What if we hosted a weekly or monthly contest? One idea is that either I would submit a topic, or we could vote on you, and writers would comment their stories, much like /r/writingprompts.

We could have a weekly critique thread, if you have something you're working on and would like feedback, or I could just create a flair for that- "OC-Feedback Wanted!"
